Buying a cotton three-piece online: what to check

SAFA LIFESTYLE2 min read

A practical checklist for fabric details, stitched sizing, lining and the pieces included in a set.

A three-piece listing can look complete in a photograph while leaving important details unanswered. Before choosing a set, check exactly what the price includes: the top, lower garment and orna or dupatta. Read whether it is ready to wear, semi-stitched or unstitched. Those options involve different sizing decisions and, for unfinished garments, a separate tailoring cost.

Start with the fabric description. “Cotton” in a product name is not a substitute for a composition label. Ask whether the fabric is pure cotton or a blend if that matters to you. A photograph alone cannot establish weight, softness or opacity. Look for close-up images of the weave and lining, and ask about any area that is important to your comfort.

For a stitched set, compare garment measurements with a similar outfit you already wear. Check the chest, shoulder, sleeve and top length, along with the waist and length of the lower garment. A size letter may describe the top without explaining the fit of the trousers. Ask whether the waist is elasticated and whether the measurements refer to a relaxed or stretched waistband.

Think about how you will wear the set. For everyday use, consider ease of movement and the care routine. For an occasion, check how the orna drapes and whether embellishments affect washing or ironing. Do not assume that a heavily decorated outfit has the same care instructions as an undecorated cotton garment.

Choose the available colour and size on the product page and inspect the corresponding images. Screens can show colour differently, so contact the store before ordering if you need an exact match for an event. Review the delivery charge, current return or exchange terms and total price before confirming your order.

Browse SAFA’s current collection for available styles, and use the size guide as a starting point. If a listing does not answer your question, send the product name to the store through the contact page. It is easier to check one missing measurement before ordering than to guess from a model photograph.
